The Skeltex management and employees are empowered and committed to develop and manufacture innovative devices in the field of interventional radiology and orthopaedic surgery that will lead to improved health outcomes for patients with back pain due to spine fractures. Skeltex’s primary technology is a device used for Vertebroplasty, a minimally invasive procedures designed to treat pain from Vertebral Compression Fractures (VCF).
More than 1 million VCF are diagnosed yearly due to osteoporosis, trauma and bone cancer. VCF procedures in the US3b are projected to grow at a rate of over 20% compounded annually going forward, increasing from just over 212,000 in 2009 to more than 349,000 procedures in 2016, mainly due to an increase of osteoporotic patients from 43M in 2002 to 61M in 2020. Patients with a VCF experience pain, a decreased quality of life (QOL), a decreased mobility and psychological impairment (anxiety, depression, etc). Fortunately, Skeltex Technologies Inc. has a solution for these patients.
Skeltex Integrated System for Vertebroplasty (ISV) is on the foreground of innovation with a remotely controlled motorized delivery and a cement cure monitoring, providing a more predictable and controlled procedure for the physician and potentially improved safety for the patient.
